Hadih Parents and Guardians:
If you have a little time tomorrow morning when dropping kids off to hang around outside and enjoy an awesome drum circle by the Districts Indigenous Education Department Team you are welcome to do so! The school is encouraging parents and guardians observing to remain outside if they decide to watch it so that the school can maintain physical distancing inside the school. Here is the information that Principal Monique provided in an email to parents:
“Morning Drum Welcome
Every morning the Indigenous Education Department Team has been drumming and singing students, staff, and families into their buildings at a variety of schools across the district. Their focus this year is spreading joy and happiness district wide. It’s been amazing to see students and staff sing, drum and clap along with them. It’s such a beautiful and heartwarming opportunity to be a part of.
École Lac des Bois is please to welcome our Indigenous Education Department on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 8:10am – 8:45am.”
